The letters of the “XMAS” sign are three-dimensional. To decorate them, you can cut out various leaves, pine boughs, and berries. You can create multiple variations of each winter botanical motif—experimenting with different leaf shapes and berry types. Choose colors that suit your personal taste and reflect what “true Christmas spirit” means to you. Do you prefer a dominance of red and gold, or perhaps blue and silver? You can use a variety of glossy papers: mirror-finish, satin-sheen, or even glittery options.

Experiment with different compositions when decorating the letters. Try out various arrangements and color palettes. This is a fun activity to do with children; it allows you to subtly nurture their aesthetic sense and visual awareness.
Observe which botanical motifs best suit the straight sections of the letters and which work better with the curved parts.
Strive for a harmonious look across all four letters.

Recommended paper quality: at least 180-200gsm.

Using a PDF file:
You will need access to a printer, paper, card, glue, rulers and scissors.

How to use PDF files:
– Download & unzip the files
– Print the template
– Cut out the parts
– Fold along folding lines (Score it to make it easier to fold. Use a ruler and the tip of the scissors or the tip of a worn-out pen.)
– Glue parts together.

A small glue gun can also be useful. I recommend it.

Using SVG files:
Basic knowledge of Cricut software and of using SVG files with it is assumed.

How to use SVG files:
– Download & unzip the files
– Preparing files with e.g. Design Space software for using Cricut (or Silhouett) machine
– Score and cut out the parts with Cricut machine
– Fold along folding lines
– Glue parts together
– To color, to decorate.
