Stylized jungle with monkeys. You can stick the tropical leaves on a round, three-dimensional, 3-level base. Two monkeys, a chimpanzee, and a gorilla are hidden among the foliage. The monkeys’ arms and legs can be moved using a split pin. (Split pin or cotter pin: A two-pronged metal fixing pin that is inserted through a hole, and then the ends of the stems are opened.) The richly patterned leaves with monkeys create a round tropical forest with a tale-illustration atmosphere. Excellent wall decoration in a child’s room or a children’s institution. In a nursery, kindergarten, school classroom, club room, children’s corner at events.

It provides a good opportunity to practice basic skills during its preparation.
Cutting: cutting out the leaves and monkeys is easy or moderately difficult, depending on the outline of the leaves, but it’s okay if the cutting is a little inaccurate.

Coloring: I recommend that you color the leaves and monkeys as well. Make your jungle vibrantly colorful! Coloring is a favorite activity from an early age. It develops fine motor movements very well, or in simpler terms, manual dexterity. Many types of colored tools can be used: colored pencils, paints, colored chalks, acrylic markers, or gel markers. The advantage of the latter two is that they cover well on colored surfaces and result in bright colors. The dried layers can also overlap each other, creating even more exciting colored surfaces.

Folding: Folding the gluing tabs will be easier if you lightly scratch the surface of the paper along the dashed lines. (It is useful to use a ruler and blunt-tipped scissors or, for example, the tip of an empty pen. It is not necessary to scratch hard, because then the paper may tear.)

Gluing: Younger children may need help to glue the basic spatial structure, but they can do it independently from the age of 8-10. Gluing the leaves is not technically difficult. It is also worth encouraging the younger ones to place the leaves evenly in a circle while gluing. The leaves should overlap each other. It is worth spreading them out in front of you and roughly arranging the leaves in a circle before gluing. This makes it easier to create the composition and improve it. The gluing can follow afterwards.

Making a paper object is suitable for practicing cooperation and teamwork. Younger children can create with their parents, grandparents, or older siblings. They can take part in the work and observe the processes that they cannot yet participate in.It is important that they can observe how a spatial structure is created.

You will need access to a printer, paper, card, tape, double-sided tape or glue or glue gun, scissors, ruler.

Recommended paper quality: at least 180-200gsm.

How to use PDF files:
– Download & unzip the files
– Print the template
– Cut out the parts
– Fold along folding lines (Score it to make it easier to fold. Use a ruler and the tip of the scissors.)
– Glue parts together.

Double-sided tape is the fastest way for making paper crafts. A small glue gun can also be useful.
